ATTENTION PART DEUX

ok, the good things first:

MY COMPUTER IS NOW OFFICIALLY WORKING!
NO FILES WHERE DELETED (atleast nothing substancial, some where over-written but pssshh)
AND INTERNET WORKES FINE, HUZZAH!

now, to the bad things:

if you would be so kind as to look at this
this and this
you'll see the neato-kean effects the CSS is SUPPOSED TO DO to the images, they make them look all neat and fluffy at the edges.
and the links have the really neat image effect to them when you hover over them.

this does not work, AT ALL on my computer.
so I as unto you, my FRIENDS, HOW DO I FIX IT?! thanks

(and yes, the two first examples was hand-coded by me, insert shameles plug here)

at the end, I would like to add a great big THANK YOU SO BLOODY MUCH to [livejournal.com profile] apiphile for being the person that actually helped me with this problem, THANK YOU

YES IT BLOODY DID! SANKYOU SO MUCH!
ever, since you where the only person (iirc that is) that actually HELPED me in this situation!

*glomp!*

you don't have any idea how to fix my css problem do you? you wonderkidz you :snrgle:

I might. What's the problem? Are you using basic css in the document, or one relatively-linked style sheet?

[identity profile] nasasie.livejournal.com 2004-07-09 01:06 pm (UTC)(link)
well it's not so much as it doesn't WORK as it doesn't let me see it

for example, if I make a code on my computer, say for a *.html file, to make hover over links display a neat image, (you know)
or say, if I create some 'glowing text' it just doesn't show

if I go to sites, any sites (neopets in particular, as that's where I mostly encounter glowing text and image filter css) it doesn't show.

the text seems like usual text, (or invisible in extreme cases)
and images are displayed as if there are no transparency filters applied to them, when I hover over links. nothing happens in the image department, but the TEXT ITSELF changes colour according to whatever css I ordered.

secondly, ALL animating images flash, occasionally, disruptively, some more than others, I don't know what causes it, I tried downloading flash player (as if that helps ë_ë) to no effect

it is the same if I view onet html or ones I made myself on my computer. same difference

when viewing same sites on another computer, everything works fine

it's as if my Internet Explorer itself is shit
maybe I shall attempt to re-install it or something >_<

finaly the weird thing is, that not ALL css is conked, transparency on texareas work fine, as does colour codes, cursors, backgrounds, permanent animating backgrounds on links (but not hover) and a host of other stuff.. this is truly most irritating, as I need all my css to work when I make html files for my things

and I in particular need the filter css on images / text /etcetra to work when I commence editing my "neopets" sites, as they are shit when transparent images is concerned (i.e. they don't have 'em) and when I am anal and want black background to my lookup, using css to make them appear faded is the only way to go

basically everything that is made an example of here (http://www.lissaexplains.com/fun7.shtml) doesn't work (not on that page either) pluss images on hover links

if you could help me or just generally push me in the right direction, I'd be ever so gratefull, thanks in advance (if nothing, but because you read all that things XD)

Ah. I'm afraid that's not something I can help you with - I have similar problems with my computer, which won't show transparencies and sometimes spacks out and refuses to show text in a second div layer. I don't know what the matter is at all - the only thing I can suggest is checking your work on another computer.

ARCKH! stupid computers, why can't they work ALL THE TIME instead of just occasionally? ;(
